This is the freestanding sign at our main plant. It showcases a wide variety of sign writing methods: The strip on the pole and the band around the top contain exposed red neon recessed in grooves which are painted red to provide daytime effect. The sign cabinet is made from Jet-Cote metal and painted with Tex-Cote, which gives the illusion of a stucco finish. The same method is used for the pole cover, which conceals the internal steel support column. Pan channel letters are mounted to the cabinet. The top copy are exposed channel letters, with clear Lexan faces, and the "sign" lettering is standard channel letters with red Plexiglas faces. All channel letters are neon illuminated. The "company" portion utilizes 3/4" push-through Plexiglas, mouthed in cut-outs of the existing cabinet, with fluorescent back-lighting. This bottom portion is not Tex-Cote, but smooth and painted blue. |
